ABOUT US
YOUR TENNISHOME INFREDERICK.
Under new ownership, Jon and Scott are bringing fresh energy to the club, with one goal: the best tennis experience in Maryland. Our staff genuinely cares about every player who walks through the doors, and our pros bring work ethic and discipline along with the instruction. Whether you are a junior just discovering the sport, an adult looking to get competitive, or someone who simply loves the game, we are here for all of it.

SINCE 1975
FIFTY YEARSON RENN ROAD.
The indoor building opened in 1975 as Tuscarora Tennis Club, run by the Dixon family for about fifty years. In May 2026 Jon Hobdy and Scott Arterburn bought the property and kept the tennis going under a new name, Tennis Frederick, with many of the same pros on the courts.
QUESTIONS
Before your first visit.
Do I need a membership to play?
Spot time and Flights need a membership. Annual memberships are $255 single, $485 family and $110 student. A daily membership is $10, and daily fees apply toward an annual membership.
How does contract time work?
Your group plays the same court at the same time every week for the 34-week indoor season. The rate depends on the day and time, and the cost is split by the number of players. Contract groups get 4 bonus plays, 50% off spot time reserved within 48 hours, and free summer play on the Har-Tru courts. We can help build or fill your group.
Can my child try a lesson first?
Yes. The first Tennis 101 lesson (ages 5 to 8) and the first Junior Academy lesson (ages 9 to 18) are free.
Can we walk in to a $40 class?
No. Reserve your spot in advance online; walk-ins are not permitted. Ten classes are $360 and the credits last 12 months.
Do you teach pickleball?
Yes. Brendan Mattingly teaches tennis and pickleball. Book him like any other pro.
